The church is dedicated to St Peter and St Paul and is on the site of an older Saxon church.

The original Norman tower was pulled down after storm damage in 1703.  The present tower was rebuilt in the 1720s.

The Chancel is the oldest part of the church and the pillars are part of the Norman structure.

The stone basin of the font dates from 1390 and has roses carved on it.
