SMITH

Charles SMITH married Mary ALDRIDGE in 1845 in Gloucester, GLS.

Charles was born circa 1822 in Worcester, WOR.

He was a Waterman, working a canal boat.  In 1851 he is at the Island in Gloucester, and in 1861 on a canal boat in Solihull, WAR.

In 1871 he is on the canal wharf in Droitwich, WOR, but his wife is living back at the Island.  Charles appears to be in Gloucester Workhouse in 1881,

and he had died by 1891.

Mary was born circa 1824 in Gloucester, GLS.

She is with her husband in 1851 and 1861, but in 1871 she is back in Gloucester while he is out on the canal.

 In 1881 she is in Gloucester with some of her children and 2 of her MAYO grandchildren.

In 1891 she is a widow, living with her unmarried son, James.  In 1901 she is a Boarder at a house in Gloucester.
